Spreading the Christmas joy

by Caroline Smailes on December 2, 2009

A rather nice man called Nick emailed me from VoucherCodes.co.uk (a money saving website who scour the web for deals and discounts and put them all in one place).

I’ve had a look and I’m impressed by the site. The Debenhams page and the Tesco page have some great codes at the moment (and, in my opinion, every penny saved is a bonus at this time of year).

Anyway, Nick would like to give one of my blog readers a £25 M&S voucher.

(No catch, like I said he’s simply rather nice)

All you have to do is leave a ‘pick me’ comment by 3pm (GMT) December 4, then I’ll pop all names in a mug and ask a small child to select a winner. This competition is UK only and comes to you with a ho ho ho and a bonus Christmas wish.

(NB: I also have this book give away running at the same time)

Please please please pick me. I live across the street from a M&S and would love to be able to actual shop there and not go past it to get to the Somerfields.

They sell good wine so please pick me.

Vouchercodes looks interesting, I’ll check them out. BTW although I don’t do giveaways on my blog, I wrote a post today with several links to online ‘Advent calendars’ that have daily free entry throughout Dec for giveaway competitions with excellent prizes; you might be interested in some of them. It would make a change for you to win something online!

That’s nice of them, I use Vouchercodes quite a lot.

Pretty please pick me, my Grandma loves M&S and she would love the vouchers for Christmas (not that I’d use emotional blackmail). Would the small child accept bribes of sweets? :)

We’d like to be picked on behalf of a wee family we try to help out as they have about this amount of money coming into their home to feed and all else each week at present.
They hate to ask for help, find gifts of food difficult because invariably people don’t actually ask what they need or even like - well you’ve got to be grateful we’re giving it to you.
So we have taken to posting wee cards through their letterbox with a few words and whatever I find I have in my purse to share.
I was given some Smiths tokens as a gift so decided they would be a gift for me to share…the children of the household loved being able to go into the shop and buy magazines, pens and a gift for their mum.
Sorry this is way too long but maybe Christmas is a time to really think about gifts. As I don’t celebrate that day myself I have just taken on the motto Christmas should be every day and try to put my self in the place of anyone I try to share what I have with.
M&S is still underwear shop of choice for me but for this wee family it might be a real gift.
