Sarah Salway reads from ‘You Do Not Need Another Self-Help Book’

by Caroline Smailes on February 28, 2012

I’m thrilled to be featuring the very talented Sarah Salway on my blog today.

Sarah has recorded a poem just for us, dear blog friends, it’s called ‘Socks’. It’s from her brand new poetry collection, ‘You Do Not Need Another Self-Help Book’. And that poetry collection is possibly the best poetry collection I’ve EVER read. Truly and utterly delicious flashes into moments that will resonate, that will make you remember. Sarah Salway makes her craft appear effortless, with grace, with class and with such beauty. I highly and absolutely recommend this collection to you all.

‘You Do Not Need Another Self-Help Book ‘ is available now from the publisher’s website.

To see where Sarah will be visiting for her poetic blog tour, nip over here. Or you may want hop along to Alice’s blog to hear ‘Things To Do Today’.

You have a lovely voice, Sarah - and it fits the mood and atmosphere of the poem beautifully.

I love that poem, Sarah! I know that feeling well. I have bought those tiny socks too. You have a lovely, soothing, welcoming voice that brings life to your words.

Caroline, thank you for featuring Sarah, that was a nice change, although the tears are flowing. I really enjoyed this blog. xxx

Thank you Caroline, and thanks too to Paul and Trish. I really appreciate you listening and your kind words. Trish, you have the socks too? Amazing how quickly my baby’s feet grew!

Yes, I do. But sadly I never got the baby who would wear them.

I finished reading this last night. Elegant, mature and great story-telling.
