So, I’ve been scheming with two rather lovely young men, (Jon Mayhew and Nik Perring) trying to come up with a relaxed event that was all about books and writing.
We, finally (after talk of sequins and singing…), came up with the ‘Talking: Books’ idea, which will see us chatting about all things books and writing (from the where we find inspiration, to the truth about the publishing industry, to the stages of production and beyond). There’ll be readings and chat and we’ll even answer any question thrown at us… eek!
We’re hoping to do a few of these events and may even invite other writers to join in the fun. There’s a page for the first event and a facebook ‘like’ page, if you’d care to stay up to date with it all.

An evening with Jon Mayhew, Nik Perring and Caroline Smailes.
Join authors Jon Mayhew, Nik Perring and Caroline Smailes for an evening exploring the world of writing and publishing. A children’s author, a short story writer and a novelist, these three published authors will take you on their journey from beginning to book, answering your questions along the way.
When: Wednesday 9th June, from 7pm
Where: Chester Library
Cost: £3 library members / £4 non members (including refreshments)
