Like a princess in a fairytale, Grace Hamilton has been showered with blessings: professional success, a happy marriage, and she even lives in a beautiful castle. But the only thing she really wants - her heart’s desire - is the one thing she can never have.
Her sister, the beautiful Susannah, has made a mess of her life. Like a reverse Midas, everything she touches turns to shit. But Fate puts Grace’s future in Susannah’s hands, changing the balance of power between the sisters forever.
‘What’s Yours is Mine’ is intelligent female fiction from best-selling author Tess Stimson. The writing isn’t at all fluffy, it’s sharp, entertaining, accessible and gritty. The plot is believable and the characterisation is spot on. I was hooked from the first page.
The skill and craft is shown as two strong female characters, one ‘good’ and one ‘bad’, characters that are recognisable and real, are offered to the reader. The story then unfolds, being told through the two different viewpoints and voices, as the characters are manipulated into an extreme situation - a situation where the ‘bad sister’ offers to help the ‘good sister’ to have a baby.
‘What’s Yours is Mine’ is a story about differences, about probing normality, about sibling relationships and about longing. Tess Stimson takes her reader on a rollercoaster of a ride, one that is enthralling and frank.
This is an ‘in one-sitting’ kind of book, and a thoroughly good read.
