Squeee!

‘Like Bees to Honey’ is available for pre-order on Amazon.

The Product Description (and review) made me smile (lots!):

Product Description

A major new novel from the acclaimed author of In Search of Adam and Black Boxes. In her third novel, acclaimed author Caroline Smailes draws upon her own family history for a remarkable and unforgettable story of loss and redemption. Nina travels to Malta with her five-year-old son Chrisopher. She left the island at the age of nineteen to study at Liverpool University but fell pregnant and was disowned by her family. Following a car accident her relationship with her husband breaks down and she feels compelled to return home, taking her young son with her in the hope of reconciliation with her father and siblings. Once in Malta, strange things start to happen. Nina discovers that the island is full of souls in various stages of transition. Malta is the place where the dead all travel to before they pass over and she is visited by seven of them who, in turn, try to help her deal with the issues that have brought her to the island after so many years away. As Nina travels round Malta and learns more from each friendly spirit she begins to understand why she has really come back and is forced to face some startling truths which will haunt the reader long after they put the book down. Caroline Smailes has built up a significant cult following with her first two books - In Search of Adam and Black Boxes - with Like Bees to Honey she has written a remarkable story which will break her through to the mainstream audience she so richly deserves.

And, (insert another squeee!) according to Amazon my publication date will be May 27 2010

They call you acclaimed, not once but twice! In subsequent sentences! Ms Smailes, you have truly joined the ranks of the acclaimed.

And they finish off with a remarkable. This is Very Good Stuff Indeed. Roll on May 27th: I’m excited!

Helen M Hunt - Nina is somewhat too troubled to meet any sexy barmen, but I can feel a sequel forming… :)

trousers - I KNOW!!!!!! Do you think they made a mistake and next time I check it’ll say ‘rubbish writer’? I feel so exicted, like proper excited! It all feels ‘really real’ now. You know, 3 novels in and still seeing my name on Amazon makes me have flutters inside. I really did squeal when I saw it on there. I take nothing for granted.

Angie - thank you! On shelves, oh my, it will be, won’t it, hopefully…

Squeeee indeed! This makes me excited too! I can’t wait to read Like Bees to Honey. Is it not being published in hardcover though? Is it going to be published straight to paperback? I don’t mind as it’ll be cheaper, but hardcovers are so very lovely (especially yours!)
